What’s Next for Maropost? Data Breach, COVID-19, and more...

Amid the world's current global crisis, Maropost, the industry leader in simplifying customer engagement, faces a small crisis of its own.

If you’ve been keeping up on the latest news regarding Maropost, a company that handles the customer engagement platforms of B2C companies and retailers, then you’ve probably heard about the recent discussion on its supposed ‘data breach.’

Were this true, the breach could have left thousands of potential victims vulnerable to all sorts of cybernetic attacks. But… Fortunately, for Maropost’s clients, and their client’s own customers, the reports of a data breach were overly exaggerated and largely inaccurate.

In short, it never happened.

There was never an actual data breach.

In an article from TechTimes, the so-called data breach was reported as having had nothing to do with Maropost’s own systems, just the system of an independent test-machine that was filled with a bunch of old-time logs. There was never any risk to anyone and, to this day, Maropost’s security systems remain free of any holes or weaknesses.

But, how about other challenges?

Maropost on the Novel Coronavirus

At the writing of this article, the whole world is still on alert at the spreading of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). And, as you might expect, it isn’t just individuals being affected by this pandemic. Businesses everywhere are being affected as well.

The owner and CEO of Maropost, Ross Andrew Paquette, mentions the company’s current challenges amidst the COVID-19 crisis in an interview with Thrive Global.

In this interview, Mr. Paquette says this, “Our biggest challenge at this time is ensuring that our employees and customers are healthy and in safe environments while we do all that we can to support them as they work through their own struggles.”

He adds, “While the crisis has had untold challenges for other businesses, Maropost is fortunate enough to be one that falls under the business-critical environment, and one that businesses rely upon during a crisis more so to indirectly get their message out, sell their products, communicate with their customers, and so on, than anything else.”

Further questioning revealed that, since the COVID-19 had little effect on the actual internal workings of Maropost, the company had been able to get a lot done from a “product and development perspective.”

Suffice it to say, Maropost and its team are definitely raring to grow and improve even during this time. Something that it has been seen doing since its founding.

There’s much more to look forward to in this regard. Including...

Pending Maropost Product and Infrastructure Improvements

As mentioned, the CEO of Maropost stated that they were getting a lot done when it came to product and development. This is not the first time Mr. Paquette has been caught saying such things in recent history.

Just a year before now, Maropost had moved their entire platform to Google Cloud, and a couple of months ago, they had completely changed the look of their UI to improve usability. Both improvements have been seamlessly integrated into Maropost’s current systems.

But there seems to be always more incoming. In fact...

More recently, Mr. Paquette had mentioned that there were a couple of new products that were potentially going to be coming online to Maropost soon.

Specifically, an e-commerce platform and their first self-service platform around transactional email sending. We’ll have to await further news on what these products are, and how they will help improve Maropost’s systems.

But, based on the upward trajectory in Maropost’s recent history, we can expect it to be quite innovative indeed.

Other Notable Maropost Projects

With all that said and done, there is only one last Maropost update to talk about.

Maropost has a propensity of running multiple projects at a time. The most notable of which currently is Maropost CARES. Maropost CARES is a charity that was established by Maropost in order to work on the global economic concerns of this time.

CEO Ross Paquette describes the program in an interview with the Entrepreneur, where he clarifies that it was created to focus on the “protection, conservation, and education around environmental and wildlife issues by supporting organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, Sea Turtle Conservancy and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.” He goes on to say that they are planning to “run our own programs and events” in the future.
