Bay Area Bridges Under Wind Advisory
High winds have been reported on the Bay Bridge and Benicia-Martinez spans since around 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday respectively.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — Wind advisories were in effect for three bridges and the Altamont Pass in the San Francisco Bay Area early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP said the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and the Altamont Pass have high wind conditions which require roadway signs to be activated to advise motorists of the windy conditions.
High winds have been reported on the Bay Bridge and Benicia-Martinez spans since around 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday respectively and the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge first received a high wind advisory around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday. The CHP said the Altamont Pass wind advisory came into effect around midnight Thursday.
There was no estimated time of when the advisories would be lifted.
