Campaign for Martinez City Council

Martinez, CA, June 7, 2020—Danial Leahy is seeking to challenge the incumbent for the District 2 seat on the Martinez City Council and bring a fresh perspective to government. Dan plans to focus on increasing the livability of Martinez, promoting economic growth and opportunity, and improving government transparency.

Danial grew up in neighboring Concord and his family has settled in Martinez. He has spent over 10 years teaching and coaching middle and high school students in public speaking and debate. Danial is a little more than halfway through a part-time Juris Doctorate program and will seek to take the bar when completed. Being a long-standing resident of the community Danial knows the rich history of the community and about the potential opportunities that exist. He plans to utilize the skills of problem solving and advocacy that has made him a successful coach for the residents of Martinez.

The candidate said, ““I’m really looking forward to talking with voters about how we can make positive change for everyone in Martinez.” Danial also said, “Circumstances surrounding COVID-19 will make in person campaigning challenging. However, the campaign will have a robust socially distant operation to kick off the campaign.”
