Capitol Corridor Reports Delays

Issues in the East Bay were causing delays Thursday morning for Capitol Corridor trains.

EAST BAY, CA — Fire department activity in Richmond and a Union Pacific signal issue between Richmond and Martinez were causing delays for Capitol Corridor trains Thursday morning. Capitol Corridor officials reported the signal problem at 5:40 a.m. and said it was causing systemwide delays. Union Pacific spokeswoman Hannah Bolte said crews responded to fix the problem with the signal.

About two hours later, shortly after 7:40 a.m., Capitol Corridor officials said service was restored but that riders should expect residual delays of at least 30 minutes as trains return to their regular schedules.

At about 8 a.m., Capitol Corridor officials said trains were delayed systemwide due to fire department activity in the Richmond area.
