Car Goes Off Highway 4, Hits Tree In Martinez: CHP

The vehicle went off the right shoulder of SR-4 just west of Morello Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.

MARTINEZ, CA — A possible tire blow-out may have been what caused a vehicle to go off state Highway 4 and hit a tree Friday afternoon in Martinez, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported at 3:54 p.m. on westbound SR-4, west of Interstate Highway 680. The car went off the right shoulder just west of the Morello Avenue off-ramp, according to the CHP.

As of 5 p.m., emergency personnel were still at the scene of the collision that resulted in minor injuries.
