Closure Of I-680 Scheduled North Of Benicia-Martinez Bridge
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The upcoming closure is for scheduled bridge maintenance, according to Caltrans.
MARTINEZ, CA — A temporary closure of northbound Interstate Highway 680 just north of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge is scheduled to take place early Saturday morning, according to Caltrans.
Northbound I-680 will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. Aug. 17, during which time motorists should expect delays and exercise caution, said Janis Mara, Caltrans District 4 spokeswoman.
The closure is for scheduled bridge maintenance, according to Caltrans.

"Only the northbound lanes of I-680 will be closed," Mara said. "All lanes of southbound I-680 will remain open."
During the closure, motorists on northbound I-680 will be detoured to westbound Interstate 780 in Benicia to East 5th Street. The Caltrans detour will direct motorists to turn left on East 5th Street, left onto eastbound I-780 and then bear to the right to get back onto northbound I-680.
