Martinez Blaze Burns 10 Acres; Another Fire Burns Nearby
Firefighters and aircraft resources were responding to the 10 acre "Crocket Fire" in Contra Costa County Saturday.
MARTINEZ, CA — Firefighters were at the scene of two vegetation fire near Martinez in Contra Costa County Saturday. One, dubbed the "Crocket Fire," had quickly spread to 10 acres Saturday, Cal Fire said.
Aircraft resources and ground personnel were battling the Crocket blaze off Cummings Skyway near Martinez.
The second fire was burning on Bear Creek Road, and had charred about an acre. People were asked to avoid the area.
