Witnesses told police the BMW was speeding northbound on Stony Point Road at Lazzini Avenue and the Cadillac was traveling westbound on Lazzini Avenue at Stony Point Road.

"It is unknown at this time if the Cadillac was going straight across the intersection or making a left turn onto southbound Stony Point Road," Santa Rosa police said Sunday in a statement about the fatal crash. "It is also unknown which vehicle had a green light to enter the intersection."

Officers were still investigating whether alcohol or any other drug may have played a role in the collision.

Any witnesses of the crash or anyone who has information about it asked to call Santa Rosa Police Department’s Traffic Division at 707-543-3636 and ask to speak to Officer Jeff Adams.
