Finalists Named For President Of Contra Costa Community Colleges
Forums featuring the three finalists are being held this week.

MARTINEZ, CA — Finalists have been selected for the job of president of the Contra Costa Community College District and forums are being held this week so the public can ask the candidates questions, district officials announced on Monday. The first forum was held Monday, with another two set for 4 p.m. today and Wednesday at the district's Fireside Hall at 2600 Mission Bell Drive in San Pablo.
The finalists are Eric Friedman, John Mosby and Katrina VanderWoude.
Friedman most recently has been senior vice president of academic affairs at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he has been for 11 years.

Friedman oversees all of the academic divisions of the college as well as community education, workforce development, the Culinary Conference Center, the Office of Faculty and Staff Development, cultural affairs and academic support services.
Mosby has been working in higher education for 23 years. At Mission College in Santa Clara, he oversees student services, which includes categorical programs, admissions and records, financial aid, health services,
counseling, international studies, athletics, among other programs and services.

VanderWoude has over 25 years of experience in instruction and student services at community colleges and four-year institutions. She now serves at vice president of academic affairs at Grossmont College, a designated Hispanic serving college and an Achieving the Dream school. Grossmont College is part of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District and is located in El Cajon.
The vacancy is result of CCCCD chancellor Fred E. Wood announcing in February that then-president Mojdeh Mehdizadeh would return in March to the District Office as executive vice chancellor of Education and Technology. The chancellor then selected retired Santa Monica College president/superintendent Dr. Chui L. Tsang to serve as interim president.
