Firefighters Halt Brush Fire At Cummings Skyway, Highway 4
The blaze spread at a moderate rate but there were no reports of structures threatened or damaged, Cal Fire said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Firefighters halted a vegetation fire Sunday night off Cummings Skyway and Highway 4 in the Rodeo area, near Crockett and Martinez, Cal Fire officials reported.
Crews responded around 8:30 p.m. and battled four separate fires that together burned a total of one acre, officials said.
The Skyway Fire spread at a moderate rate but there were no reports of structures threatened or damaged.

By 9 p.m., forward progress of the Skyway Fire was stopped by firefighters with Cal Fire, Crockett-Carquinez Fire Department and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Two engine crews stayed at the scene to ensure the blaze was fully under control, Cal Fire said.
