High Winds Possible In East Bay This Weekend
With gusts up to 50 mph possible this weekend, much of the Bay Area is under a high winds watch, officials say.
EAST BAY, CA — The East Bay and much of the Bay Area is under a High Wind Watch from 7 p.m. Saturday night to 4 a.m. Monday, the National Weather Service said.
Officials forecast possible northeast winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Winds are expected to first pass over the Bay Area Saturday night and increase again Sunday afternoon as the weather warms.
High winds can take down trees and power lines, causing power outages, NWS said. Travel can be more difficult, especially for tall vehicles.
