I-680 Closures Planned North Of Benicia-Martinez Bridge: Caltrans

There will also be intermittent lane closures on the bridge throughout the week, according to a Caltrans traffic advisory.

SOLANO and CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES, CA — Caltrans announced temporary closures this week of the northbound Interstate 680 connector off-ramp to I-680 just north of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, as well as intermittent lane closures of the bridge throughout the week.

Interstate 680 just north of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge will be closed from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday, March 15, and again from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, March 16, according to a Caltrans news release.

The closures are for scheduled bridge maintenance, Janis Mara of Caltrans District 4 said.

Mara said during the closures, the detour route will be from northbound I-680 to westbound Interstate 780, to East 2nd Street, to Lake Herman Road, and then back onto northbound I-680.

Various lane closures Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 on the I-680 Benicia-Martinez Bridge are also for scheduled maintenance, according to Mara.
