Man's Body Found In Alhambra Creek: Martinez Police
Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
MARTINEZ, CA — An investigation was underway Monday into the death of a man whose body was found in Alhambra Creek.
The Martinez Police Department dispatched officers at 10:30 a.m. Monday to the creek behind the 900 block of Ferry Street, where it was reported there was a "man down" in the water who was unresponsive and had visible injuries, police Lt. Mike Estanol said in a news release.
Officers assessed the man's condition and determined he died before they got there, Estanol said.

The man was described as white and in his 50s.
Police did not release the man's name, as the Contra Costa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office was working to confirm his identity and notify his next of kin.

Detectives remained at the scene near Green Street Monday afternoon, investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, Estanol said.
