Martinez Boy Mauled By Dog
Morello Park student recovering after sustaining major injuries in pitbull attack.
A simple afternoon with a friend turned into a nightmare for a Martinez boy when he was attacked by a pitbull and severely injured.
Hunter Kilbourn, 10, a student at Morello Park Elementary, was visiting family friends in Antioch when a family dog entered the house and jumped on the boy, according to a report in the Contra Costa Times. Kilbourn suffered major injuries to his face and head, as well as injuries to his arms.
Kilbourn underwent surgery Monday at UC Davis Medical Center to reattach his right ear. He is scheduled for another surgery Tuesday.
Mountain Mike's Pizza on Arnold Drive is hosting a fundraiser for the family this week, through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thirty percent of the bill from any order with a pizza, salad, or drink will go toward Kilbourn's medical bills.
