Martinez Man Dies On Hunting Trip
William Weller, 58, dies after being shot in Tomales.
Richard William Weller, 58, of Martinez was found dead Saturday at 1:16 p.m. in Tomales, near the Marin County coast.
Marin County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim on Middle Road in Tomales at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses said Weller had been hunting with several other individuals. He was traveling in a vehicle when a firearm discharged.
Weller was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marin County Sheriff's Office and coroner's division and the California Department of Fish and Game are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Weller's death.
