Martinez PD: 'Acting Crazy' Running Around Naked

Snippets from the Martinez police log, April 12 through 14.

April 12

So drunk. Just before 1:30 a.m., a woman fell over on the Estudillo Street and was crying while "a shirtless male" attempted to help her. The man apparently kept saying, "you're so drunk." They were gone on police arrival.

It's 5 'o clock somewhere. Around 6:38 a.m., a concerned citizen reported that it was "an odd time of day" for two or more men to be sitting in a car "blasting loud music and smoking" by a children's park.

Expensive field trip. Just after 7 a.m., two yellow school buses that had been parked overnight on Hull Lane got cited.

Car parts theft. In the 7 a.m. hour, someone stole the tailgate off a GMC truck on Vista Way. Also, the owner of a Cadillac Escalade discovered the rims were missing.

No entry. At 9:35 a.m., someone was seen using bolt cutters on the fence on Arnold Drive by the freeway. He was gone on police arrival.

Illegal strawberries. The man on the corner of Morello Avenue and Village Oaks Drive continues to sell strawberries in violation of the municipal code, according to a local who called the police to have the strawberry seller cited.

Meet on the playground after school. Around 2 p.m., an Alhambra High parent called police to warn them of a possible fight being arranged for sometime after school at the Marina.

Hippy behavior. Around 7 p.m., two people at were allegedly running around and naked and "acting crazy" at Ferry Street and Joe Dimaggio Drive. They were given a warning by police.

April 13

Bad sport. Around 10 a.m., someone in a Giants jacket left the Copper Skillet without paying the $20 bill.

Extra patrols. Police were paying attention to Mission Pines Apartments on Pine Street after a resident called concerned that someone had been peering into vehicles there last night.

Going nowhere. A man was allegedly sitting at the Amtrak station for eight hours refusing to leave after his credit card was declined for ticket payment.

Party time. Just before 11 p.m., a resident of Franklin Canyon Road called to complain that there were over 100 vehicles parked on the street and "kids all over the road."

Aluminum emergency. Just after 11 p.m., a 17-year-old female knocked on the door of a Kim Ct resident asking for "tin foil." She said she "had to wrap a present for a friend." 

April 14

Big dog. Around noon, someone called the police because there was a German Shepherd being walked off-leash at Golden Hills Park.

Persistant fruit seller. Around 1 p.m., the guy selling fruit at Morello Avenue and Village Oaks Drive was back.

Still going nowhere. At 12:33 p.m., someone at the Amtrak station kept "trying to get on trains without paying." 

Might as well eat lunch. At 2:36 p.m., someone at the Amtrak station — possibly the same person mentioned above — was harassing customers. He was apparently sitting in front of the station eating, but was gone on police arrival.

Make music, not war. At 10 minutes to 11 p.m., three people were seen fighting at the Marina Market on Escobar St. One of them was holding a guitar.
