EPA Fines Pittsburg Marina, Bethel Market, Other Delta Businesses
Three other Delta businesses were fined, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
SACRAMENTO-SAN JOAQUIN RIVER DELTA, CA — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced settlements Tuesday with five waterfront operations along the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta over allegations they violated the Clean Water Act.
Two of the facilities are in Contra Costa County, with one more in Solano County and the other two are in San Joaquin County.
The Pittsburg Marina in Pittsburg was fined $1,950, and the Bethel Market, on Bethel Island in unincorporated Contra Costa County, was fined $1,500.

In Solano County, the Suisun City Marina was fined $1,500.
In San Joaquin County the Bullfrog Marina and the Union Point Marina Bar and Grill, both of which are located in the Stockton area, were fined $1,675 and $1,500, respectively.

All of the fines stem from alleged failures to adhere to state law regarding the development and implementation of plans for the prevention and cleanup of oil spills.
Regulators say those plans are intended to ensure that equipment and procedures are in place to minimize environmental risks posed by oil storage along waterways.
