Rock history of the 60's and 70's with Richie Unterberger.

Vintage film clips, photos and records of Contra Costa County bands

The Contra Costa County Historical Society presents Rock History of the 60’s & 70’s!

Noted music historian, author and music reviewer Richie Unterberger will present an illustrated talk using vintage film clips, pictures, and records of Contra Costa County rock bands of the 1960s and early 1970s.

Creedence Clearwater Revival was the biggest of those groups, but bands based in Contra Costa County itself will also be featured, including Frumious Bandersnatch, Savage Resurrection, Country Weather, and Two Things In One. The Contra Costa connections of Country Joe & the Fish and the Grateful Dead will also be noted, as will the venues that hosted both local acts and touring international superstars like the Kinks.
