Trains Delayed By Martinez Homeless Encampment Fire: Video
Martinez police said Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews found the blaze under the railroad trestle and extinguished it.

MARTINEZ, CA — Capitol Corridor trains were delayed Wednesday morning because of a fire at a homeless encampment near the train tracks. The train agency initially wrote on Twitter at 9:24 a.m. that trains were stopped because of the fire west of the Martinez station.
Martinez police said Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews found the blaze under the railroad trestle and extinguished it.
Fire investigators are at the scene to investigate, and Capitol Corridor officials wrote on Twitter shortly after 10 a.m. that trains are beginning to move again.
