MENLO PARK, CA. August 8, 2017 – St. Patrick’s Seminary & University will host its 10th Annual Gala: Celebration Under the Stars on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the 118-year-old seminary located at 320 Middlefield Road in Menlo Park, California. This year’s event will honor the Walk for Life West Coast founders Dolores Meehan and Eva Muntean.

The annual on-site fundraiser, which supports the seminary’s mission of forming future priests, will feature tours of St. Patrick’s historic campus, al fresco dining under the stars on its beautiful lawn, and a silent auction and exciting raffle which includes a 2017 Lexus IS200t sedan or $25,000 as the Grand Gala Raffle Prize – all to benefit the formation of clergy for Western and Pacific Rim dioceses. Last year’s gala attracted over 500 people and raised over $200,000 to support the seminary’s formation programs.

“We’re extremely excited about this year’s gala and look forward to celebrating with our friends, alumni, and many benefactors to support the next generation of priests serving the Catholic community and all those in need,” said Rev. George E. Schultze, SJ, President-Rector for the Seminary. “The two amazing women we are honoring this year, Dolores Meehan and Eva Muntean, have worked tirelessly to promote the Walk for Life West Coast that inspires thousands of people every year to come together to defend the unborn.”

Walk for Life West Coast was established in 2005 in San Francisco to let people know that "Women Deserve Better than Abortion." The Walk is now the second largest pro-life event in the country, taking place each January. Co-founders of Walk for Life West Coast Eva Muntean and Dolores Meehan continue to chair this event that brings people together to celebrate life at its earliest stage.

Dolores Meehan is a fourth-generation San Franciscan, and currently works at San Francisco General Hospital. Over the past six years she has made annual and bi-annual visits to serve the poorest of the poor at medical missions in Nigeria, Gabon, and Mozambique.

Eva Muntean is Manager of Marketing for Ignatius Press, one of the world’s largest Catholic publishers. Born in Budapest Hungary, she and her family escaped communist oppression when she was 9 years old. Prior to joining Ignatius Press, she served as Operations Manager for Midland International Airport in Texas.
