If you're on a vacation, or a staycation, Menlo Park is a great place to check out!

Whether you're from there or just visiting, Menlo Park is a great place to see and experience. It's part of the San Fransisco Bay Area and is close to San Jose as well. With such quick access to top attractions, Menlo Park is an excellent place to stay. The town is the home of some great parks, activities, and companies, such as Facebook. Here are some things to do in Menlo Park and the surrounding areas if you're an out-of-towner or just going on a staycation.
Visit a Park
Menlo Park has a few great parks that you should visit when you're in the area. Located on the east side of Menlo Park, the Bedwell Bayfront Park is a spot to enjoy the outdoors. With a total of 160-acres of land, the park offers a place for hiking, running, biking, and dog walking. Different trails provide people the opportunity to exercise, observe views, and maybe do some birdwatching. It's also surrounded by the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge on three sides. Burgess Park is an excellent destination for the kids as it is filled with recreational activities like a playground, soccer field, tennis court, and pool. Take the whole family here for a fun day outdoors. These are just two of the parks to enjoy in the area.

Kelper's Books
Check out this local landmark that has become a favorite by the community. Kelper's Books & Magazines was founded in 1955 by a peace activist named Roy Kelper. It was a pioneer for bringing paperback books to the neighborhood for 35 cents. A favorite of Stanford students, faculty, and the surrounding community, Kepler's Books is a literary hub that provides literary events, a knowledgable staff, and a wide selection of books. In 2005, Kepler's Books went out of business and closed its doors. However, the love of this book store throughout the community is so strong; they rallied together and found a way for Kepler's Books to reopen its doors a few weeks later.
