MENLO PARK, CA -- Facebook users' data is still making the rounds.

The latest reported by Bloomberg Wednesday involves a cybersecurity firm that found troves of user information "hiding in plain sight," which inadvertently posted publicly on Amazon.com Inc.’s cloud computing servers.

The discovery dug up by Australia-based UpGuard researchers indicates the vulnerability of user data in breaches such as the one in which Cambridge Analytica exposed how insecure and widely disseminated Facebook users’ information is online, Bloomberg added.

Privacy issues have plagued the social media giant, prompting the company to focus on encryption in a blatant change in direction.

More recently, Facebook Chief Executive Officer has asked the federal government to step in for assistance in such data privacy issues. He will testify before Congress on April 10.

As for Amazon, the mega online retailer is hardly the only company to have private records trip into the public eye. In this instance, Amazon declined to comment, according to Bloomberg.
