Meet & Mingle With Team USA Chefs Prior To Bocuse d’Or

MENLO PARK, CA – An evening meet-and greet and cocktail reception with the team of chefs representing the United States at the international culinary competition Bocuse d’Or will be hosted Jan. 8 at the Rosewood Sand Hill hotel in Menlo Park.

At the "Road to Lyon" send-off, guests will enjoy small bites and special dishes and mingle with Executive Chef Reylon Agustin, who heads Rosewood Sand Hill’s restaurant, Madera, along with members of Team USA 2019, headed to the prestigious biennial competition in Lyon, France.

Head Coach Robert Sulatycky is representing Team USA, an esteemed group that includes Head Chef Matthew Kirkley, formerly of Michelin-starred Coi restaurant in San Francisco and Commis Mimi Chen, who has worked with Kirkley at Coi. Chef Philip Tessier, the first American ever to place on the podium at the Bocuse d’Or, also will make a special appearance at this event.

During the Rosewood Sand Hill reception, several Bay Area chefs will serve selections of small bites that celebrate the diverse culinary landscape of the area, and Agustin also will create a selection of dishes to showcase Madera’s artfully-crafted, locally-sourced cuisine.

Sulatycky, Kirkley and Chen will participate in a Q&A session that will give attendees rare insight into the training and preparation process undertaken by chefs ahead of the Bocuse d’Or.

Ticket proceeds will be donated to Ment’or BKB, a Team USA-chosen non-profit that provides mentorship to the next generation of promising chefs.
