- Cut 2 inches from the base of the trunk
- Make sure tree is at least 3 feet away from any heat source
- Make sure tree is not blocking an exit
- Add water to tree stand daily

- Use lights that have the label of a recognized testing laboratory.
- Never use any string of lights with worn or broken cords.
- Always turn off Christmas tree light before leaving home or going to bed.
