Menlo Park Kiwanis Club Hosts WWII Veteran
On July 18, members and guests will enjoy a special program about Honor Flight Bay Area.

From Menlo Park Kwanis Club: Menlo Park’s Kiwanis Club meets Tuesdays at noon at Allied Arts Center and presents a variety of programs and speakers at its luncheons each month. On July 18th, members and guests will enjoy a very special program about Honor Flight Bay Area.
Connie Johnson, of Honor Flight Bay Area, helps local veterans, visit THEIR memorial in Washington DC, giving priority to America’s most senior heroes—survivors of World War II or veterans with terminal illnesses.
For the Kiwanis luncheon, she has invited Army Sargent Roy Billings, a World War II Omaha Beach survivor, to relate his wartime experiences and to help her tell the Honor Flight story. His son Mike Billings, who was Roy’s guardian during a Washington DC trip in May, will also be at the luncheon.

Honor Flight has groups in other US cities, and upcoming trips from the Bay Area are scheduled for September 7-9 and October 12-14. The organization needs volunteers for outreach as well as at the airport for departures and to welcome the veterans back home.
Visitors are invited to attend this and other Kiwanis Club meetings. They are held every Tuesday at Allied Arts Center, from 12:00 – 1:15.
