Rain is expected to fall in the Bay Area over the next few days but the amount is expected to be modest, National Weather Service officials said Thursday.
A chance of rain will develop in the North Bay later Thursday and in the rest of the Bay Area by Friday. Through Friday night, the amount of rain is expected to be light except in regions of the North Bay, where moderate rainfall is forecast, weather service officials said.

The chance of rain decreases Saturday and then increases Saturday night, but mainly in the Bay Area’s southern counties. Sunday and Monday look to be dry, according to the weather service.
Through Sunday, the North Bay is expected to get from a half-inch to 1.5 inches of rain, with up to two inches in higher elevations. Areas south and east of Marin County can expect anywhere from a tenth of an inch to an inch of rain through Sunday, weather service officials said.

Another weak system is expected to move into the Bay Area Tuesday morning.
