Person Fatally Struck By Caltrain In Menlo Park

All trains in the area were stopped as of Thursday afternoon. This is the second fatality involving Caltrain in 2021.

MENLO PARK, CA — A person trespassing on the train tracks in Menlo Park was struck and killed by a northbound Caltrain on Thursday.

The transit agency said on Twitter shortly before noon that train No. 243 was stopped at Encinal Avenue and that trains were holding in the area due to police activity. Emergency personnel responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported on the train, which had about 18 passengers on their way towards San Francisco, a Caltrain spokesperson said.
