Menlo Park Teens Create Programs To Reduce Traffic
Sacred Heart Schools and Menlo School build bridge with Menlo Park Transportation Commission.

The Menlo Park Transportation Commission recognized students and staff from Sacred Heart Preparatory (SHP) and Menlo School this week for encouraging fellow students to take alternative means of transportation during an .
Both schools launched initiatives to reduce traffic and carbon emissions this year.
At Sacred Heart, students formed a green team led by juniors Laura Lopez and Martin Gonzalez. The team incentivized walking, biking, and carpooling to school by creating a competition with Menlo School's green team, Lopez said. "It got really intense," she said.
Both schools will be working with Menlo Park's Transportation Commission to share data about how students travel through town.

Students are completing surveys to document that. This data will be shared with the Transportation Commission at the end of the year with the goal of identifying the transportation challenges students face.
