2 Arrested in San Mateo County Assault, Robbery Case
Two men have been arrested for allegedly punching a man several times and robbing him in San Mateo last month.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA -- Two men have arrested for allegedly punching a man several times and robbing him in San Mateo last month, police say.
The robbery was reported around 8 p.m. on Dec. 9 by a man who said two suspects attacked him near East Poplar and North Ellsworth avenues, according to police.
The suspects, later identified as Jose Rodriguez-Barraza, 28, and Mitchell Zaragoza, 30, were seen on surveillance footage inside a local store where the victim was shopping. They left the store around the same time as the victim and the robbery occurred shortly afterward, police said.

San Mateo police on Jan. 14 put out images of the suspects on social media and asked for the public's help in identifying and finding them.
Within hours, Zaragoza turned himself in, and investigators eventually identified Rodriguez-Barraza as the second suspect.

On Monday, Jan. 21, he was spotted in the 200 block of North Amphlett Boulevard, not far from the site of the robbery, and was arrested without incident, police said.
Both suspects were booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
