Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to join together in celebration of our planet, but there are things you can do at home to celebrate and recommit yourself to being a good steward of our environment.

Spend Time in the Great Outdoors
*** Take walks in your neighborhood and identify plants, flowers, trees, and birds. (Try the apps Seek and Merlin Bird ID to help you identify!)
*** Pick up litter around your home.
*** Try your hand at organic gardening, or plant a tree. Arbor Day is on April 30!
*** In your yard, install a rain barrel or rain garden (learn more at flowstobay.org and receive rebates).
Bring Your Love for the Planet into Your Home
*** Open your blinds for natural light, and use LED light bulbs.
*** Only run full loads of dishes and clothes.
*** Use non-toxic cleaning products and keep the air inside clean.
*** Fix leaks, install low flow faucet aerators & showerheads, and turn off the water when you wash your hands and brush your teeth.
*** Experiment in the kitchen: try plant-based recipes, and buy local when you can.
*** Keep composting and recycling at home.
