Child Porn Trial Delayed Again

Superior Court judge delays for the eighth time the case of a Millbrae landlord accused of spying on his tenant, stealing her underwear and possessing child pornography.

More than two years after he was first arraigned, a Millbrae man is still awaiting trial on child pornography charges.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Department investigated Millbrae landlord Lon Joseph Baylor, 52, in 2009 when a tenant reported suspicious activity. Baylor was accused of hiding a video camera in his tenant's bathroom, and possessing child pornography.

Judge Jonathan Karesh on Friday postponed the trial of Lon Joseph Baylor, 52, to May 13 for further pretrial conference. This is the seventh time Baylor's case has been rescheduled since he was first arraigned in San Mateo County Superior Court on Feb. 4, 2011.

Baylor had originally been represented by William DuBois, but he has since been replaced by a public defender. Baylor is free from custody on a $13,000 bail bond.

Baylor was investigated in June of 2009 after his tenant found footprints in her duplex. She found the hidden video camera in the air vent of her bathroom, and four pairs of her underwear were found in Baylor's possession.

Police also found pornography depicting older men having sex with young girls on Baylor's computer.

The tenant lived in the duplex with her 13-year-old daughter. According to The Examiner, the child in the pornography is not the tenant's daughter.

A San Mateo District Attorney's Office report shows that Baylor claimed he started surveillance in the duplex because the tenant was behind on rent.
