DUI Suspect Hits Pole, Arrested On Peninsula

SAN BRUNO, CA — A San Bruno man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday night after he allegedly slammed his vehicle into a pole in San Bruno, officials said.

Officers were called to the solo-vehicle crash shortly before 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of San Bruno and Cherry avenues, where witnesses reported the man's car struck a pole affixed to the sidewalk, the San Bruno Police Department said.

Carlos Castillo, 37, the vehicle's driver and only occupant, was arrested for suspected DUI, police said, adding that he was taken to a "local sobering facility" and was not injured in the collision.
