Grass Fire Catches Parked Truck On Fire

The truck was loaded with two containers of polyester resin which had been used to resurface the concrete roadway of the San Mateo Bridge.

A grass fire bordering the turnaround access road at Pier 1 adjacent to SR-92 Eastbound spread to the right rear portion of a 3 axle truck parked on the asphalt shoulder of a construction zone.

The truck was loaded with two containers of polyester resin which had been used to resurface the concrete roadway of the San Mateo Bridge during the bridge closure two weeks ago.

The Foster City Fire Department responded and immediately extinguished the fire and deemed the scene safe. The owner of the truck was allowed to transfer the product into another container.

Traffic was not affected by this incident and the scene was not visible from SR-92 Eastbound.
