Millbrae Celebrates 2016 Holiday Season with 25th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
"The tree lighting ceremony is more than an annual tradition," said Millbrae Mayor Anne Oliva.

MILLBRAE, CA — On Saturday evening, Mayor Anne Oliva will flip the switch, turning on more than 1,000 lights for the City of Millbrae’s 25th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Starting at 5 p.m. with carol singing by the Spring Valley Elementary Children's Choir, the ceremony will give community members an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season together as the City’s 30-foot tree is decorated and lit in front of City Hall.
“The tree lighting ceremony is more than an annual tradition. It’s a time for the entire Millbrae community to join to celebrate the season, and enjoy the spirit of the holidays together,” said Millbrae Mayor Anne Oliva. “The spirits of love, unity and joy go beyond Christmas, and that is what the holiday season represents. That is what this tree truly represents.”
Following the ceremony, Millbrae Lions’ volunteers will serve hot chocolate, candy canes and holiday cookies to attendees. In addition, the Central County Fire Department will be collecting toys for their 2016 Holiday Toy Drive at the ceremony.
