Repeat DUI Offender Stopped For Speeding, Arrested Again

The man, with seven previous convictions for impaired driving, had open beer in car when pulled over Monday on the Peninsula, police said.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A Daly City man, with a reported seven previous convictions for driving under the influence, was again arrested Monday in South San Francisco after he was found to be speeding on Hillside Boulevard, according to authorities.

The motorist, Orlando A. Barrios DeLeon, pulled over for allegedly driving at 62 mph in a 40-mph zone on Hillside near Holly Avenue and found with an open container of beer in his vehicle, was determined to allegedly be under the influence and was arrested, the South San Francisco Police Department said.

The arrest came as a special traffic-enforcement detail, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety, was fanned out citywide focused on speed violators.

Of DeLeon's previous DUI-related convictions, four were at the felony level and resulted in state prison sentences, police said.

DeLeon was booked into the San Mateo County jail for the suspicion of driving under the influence with a BAC greater than .08 percent, felony DUI with prior felony convictions and allegedly driving on a suspended license, the department said.
