Suspects Sought In Peninsula Pharmacy Robbery

Suspects stole non-prescription medicine, jewelry and $120 in cash from a Millbrae Walgreens store, authorities said.

MILLBRAE, CA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying two men suspected of stealing non-prescription medicine, jewelry and $120 in cash from a Walgreens pharmacy in Millbrae, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff's deputies who were dispatched around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday to the Walgreens at 45 S. El Camino Real following a report of a theft searched the surrounding area but could not immediately locate the men.

The two men had gotten into the store's pharmacy by jumping over the counter and breaking through its social distancing barriers.

They forced the pharmacist to open a cash register and a locked safe containing controlled substances, the sheriff's office said.

One man took the jewelry the pharmacist was wearing and then the pair fled. No weapons were seen during the robbery, according to the sheriff's office.
