Traffic-Enforcement Crackdown Focuses On Millbrae

The upcoming S.T.E.P operation, with law enforcement from throughout San Mateo County, intends to target scofflaw motorists. Drive safely!

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Law-enforcement agencies from throughout the region on Tuesday, Aug, 20, will conduct a traffic crackdown, focusing on the communities of Millbrae and Burlingame, according to authorities.

Twenty-four officers from the San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program, dubbed S.T.E.P., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be sent to designated spots, identified as "trouble spots," on the Peninsula — in Burlingame and Millbrae in this case — and will be part of a collaborative effort to increase traffic safety and awareness and enforce vehicle-code violations in the region, officials said.

“S.T.E.P. is a collaborative effort on the part of the law-enforcement community in San Mateo County to address specific traffic issues and educate the public about traffic safety," Burlingame Chief of Police Michael Matteucci said. "Each month, during every S.T.E.P operation, officers conduct selective traffic enforcement at certain locations identified as problematic areas within each host city.”
