When is the First Day of School in Millbrae?

Of course, the calendar just flipped over to August and families are smack in the middle of enjoying summer vacations. 

But, back-to-school commercials hawking new clothes are already being shown on TV and that time of year is really just around the corner. 

So, even though you are most likely still heading to the beach and pool, soaking up those rays of summer, here are some important things to know when it comes to local schools' 2013-14 calendars.

• Mills High School First Day of School: Wednesday, Aug. 14
• Millbrae School District First Day of School: Tuesday, Sept. 3

High school students preparing for classes at Mills High School, check out the San Mateo Union High School District calendar here. This is the registration schedule:

• Grade 12: Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 9-11 a.m.
• Grade 11: Wednesday, August 7 from 12:30-3 p.m.
• Grade 10: Thursday, August 8 from 9-11 a.m.
• Grade 9: Thursday, August 8 - Begins after Orientation is completed (about 12:30-3 p.m.)
