MARIN COUNTY, CA — A sprawling Marin County estate once owned by a Bay Area biotech titan is going up for sale at auction, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The 140-acre King Mountain Estate was previously owned by Genentech co-founder Herbert Boyer according to the report.
Boyer planned to build a 27,500-square-foot mansion on the property but never did despite winning approval for the project, the report said.

The property will go up for auction with no reserve because it is undeveloped according to the report.
The property is currently owned by a Los Angeles trust, the report said.
