29 iPads Were Stolen from Park School Over the Summer
This week's roundup of Mill Valley Police activities also includes a rash of vandalism, an allegedly drunk cab driver and a number of bicycle thefts.

August 27
4:12 p.m. – A resident of the 300 block of Molino Ave. called police to report that the Bel Air cab driver who had just driven him home smelled of alcohol and nearly caused a traffic accident at Molino and Miller avenues. The driver was described as a white man in his 50s with grayish blonde slicked back hair, with a “pock-marked nose” and wearing a gray collared polo shirt. Police were unable to locate the cab driver.

9:15 a.m. – A resident of the 200 block East Blithedale Ave. reported that jewelry was stolen from her home a few days earlier. Police took a report.
10:46 p.m. – A patron of Piatti restaurant reported that a cell phone valued at $300 was stolen from a table at the restaurant the previous night.

8:02 p.m. – A student at Tam High reported that his red and white Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike was stolen from the bike rack at the school. The bike was valued at $700.
11:44 p.m. – A resident of the 400 block of Marion Ave. complained that people were talking loudly and inappropriately at a neighbor’s house two doors down. Police advised the neighbor and they agreed to be quiet for the rest of the night.
August 30
11:44 a.m. – An employee at Park School at 360 East Blithedale Ave. reportedly discovered that 29 iPads in leather case had been stolen from a locked storage cart sometime during the summer. Police said they have no suspect info.
8:56 p.m. – A resident of the 200 block of Buena Vista Ave. complained that there was loud music coming from near the Mill Valley Golf Course and that she had to have her windows open because of the heat and couldn’t sleep because of the noise. Police determined that the gathering at the club house was scheduled to end soon after the complaint.
9:24 p.m. – A resident of the 600 block of Throckmorton Ave. reported that his girlfriend pushed and hit him and wouldn’t leave the home. The caller said he did not want further police action. Police took a report. Police were called to the home three hours later and arrested the woman on suspicion of aggravated assault.
August 31
5:19 p.m. – Police received a report that a three-year-old boy with brown hair and wearing a blue shirt and no pants had gone missing from a home on Circle Way. The boy was later found inside the home in good health.
11:51 p.m. – A resident reported seeing a man in a ditch near Throckmorton Ave. downtown. The man was located and arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.
September 1
12:06 p.m. – Police received a reported that a 10-year-old girl with blonde hair went missing while bicycling in the area of Lomita and Plaza drives. The girl was found with friends and family at Pico Pizza in Larkspur.
2:42 p.m. – A white-and-purple Volkswagen Vanagon was vandalized on Hamilton Drive at Seaver Drive, according to a report filed by a friend of the vehicle’s owner. The passenger’s side window was smashed. Nothing was stolen from the Vanagon.
6:41 p.m. – A white Specialized bike was stolen from Tam High within the past hour. The bike was valued at approximately $900.
7:24 p.m. – A resident of the 200 block of Roque Moraes Street reported that a burglar gained access to the house through an unlocked door or unlocked sliding door and stole a Macbook laptop, 2 iPads and an iPad Mini from the kitchen area.
7:37 p.m. – A resident of Nelson Ave. reported returning to her home to find that it had been ransacked, with a number of unspecified items stolen.
September 2
10:14 a.m. – While a man was walking his dog near Sycamore Ave., he noticed that the window to the band room at Mill Valley Middle School had been smashed, as well as another window at the school and a window on a pickup truck in the school’s parking lot.
10:44 a.m. – Someone three three eggs at a home in the 100 block of Del Casa Drive, according to a report.
2:42 p.m. – A purple low rider bicycle with a banana seat was reported stolen from the Safeway parking lot.
