Photo: Redwoods Celebration of Service 2013 Award Recipients

Designed to recognize people whose time and energy have made a difference for others, the 2013 Celebration of Service awards are:

• Bob Canepa, recipient of the Award of Honor, which is a special recognition (not given annually) to an individual for long term dedication and commitment to community service.
• Richard O. Moore, recipient of the Grace Orne Award, which honors a resident of The Redwoods who has made a significant contribution of his/her time or effort to help others.
• Keith Van Hoff, recipient of the Bill Bacon Award, which honors a member of the community who has made a significant contribution of time and effort to The Redwoods and its residents.
• Craig Sloan, recipient of the Public Safety Officer Award, which recognizes members the police, fire or paramedic department for outstanding service to the community.
• The Elizabeth Terwilliger Award for excellence in teaching in schools serving Mill Valley will go to Sarah Stoelting, Erica Dowell, Erin Conklin, Cathy Cohen, Mary Whitney, Jeanne Temple and Christina Amoroso.
• The Student Community Service Award for outstanding student volunteer service will go to Finn Kalmbach, Kylie Frame, Kara Kneafsey, Lily Bogas, Paul Law, Sonia Dolasia, Carlos Lopes-Alvarado.
