County environmental spokespersons will give a presentation on Community Marin 2013, their recently issued joint policy document, to the Mill Valley City Council on Monday, June 3. Community Marin Chair and former Marin County planning chief Marge Macris and Marin Conservation League (MCL) board member Nona Dennis are on the agenda for a presentation at 7:30 PM on Monday, June 3 in the council chambers. Community Marin 2013, sponsored by six of the county’s major environmental groups, includes a wide range of policy statements for conservation, land use and development. The highlight of the report is an appeal for the county and all its city and towns to plan together to prepare and implement measures to adapt the county to the effects of a changing climate, especially sea level rise, and to reduce activities that are the primary causes of climate change. Participating organizations are the Marin Audubon Society, Marin Baylands Advocates, Marin Conservation League, Marin Group-Sierra Club, Salmon Protection and Watershed Network, and San Geronimo Valley Planning Group.
