Golden Gate Bridge District Appoints New President
The district operates the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Transit buses and Golden Gate Ferry.
BAY AREA, CA — Barbara Pahre, a member of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District's board of directors, is the board's new president.
The board voted unanimously in May to appoint Pahre president and she began serving her two-year term Tuesday.
Pahre succeeds Board President Sabrina Hernandez, who represents San Francisco and has served as president since June 2017.

Pahre was appointed to the district's board of directors by the Napa County Board of Supervisors, and she is the second board president from Napa County since Lowell Edington's presidency between 1970 and 1972.
Pahre said she is looking forward to building on Hernandez's legacy of transparent, thoughtful and responsive stewardship at the district.
