Marin Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Strawberry Man Killed By Brother

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office has identified Allison Gibbs, 43, of Strawberry as the man fatally shot by his brother in Strawberry near Mill Valley early Wednesday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnson Kelley Gibbs, 41, as the suspect in the killing.

The shooting occurred in a residence on Bayview Terrace, where the Gibbs brothers lived with their mother and uncle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Johnson Gibbs is being held under no bail in Marin County Jail. Sheriff’s Lt. Jamie Scardina said the brothers’ mother and uncle were home but did not witness the shooting around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Allison Gibbs was shot once in the chest and the weapon has been recovered, Scardina said.

Johnson Gibbs has previous contacts with police, one of them involving prostitution, Scardina said.
