The Warriors have sold out every home game for the last two years. Have you gone to a game, Mill Valley? Go Warriors!

By Bay City News Service:

The city of Oakland is brimming with excitement over the Golden State Warriors advancing to the NBA playoffs. Coming off a historically successful season, the Warriors have advanced to the playoffs with a 67-15 record, the best in the NBA.

After concluding the regular season Wednesday night with a 133-126 victory over the Denver Nuggets, the Warriors will start a best-of-seven playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Oracle Arena. Fans have been turning out in droves to watch the Warriors consistently beat opponents at home -- the team only lost twice all season while playing in Oakland.

There have been 123 consecutive sellouts at Oracle Arena and the 803,436 fans who attended games this year equaled the second-highest attendance total in franchise history, team officials said. Only during the 2007-08 season did more fans turn out to watch the team. The Warriors have sold out every home game for the last two years.

“There are no more true believers than Warriors fans here in Oakland,” Mayor Libby Schaaf said in a statement. “After a thrilling regular season, we’re ready to cheer on our great team as they start the drive toward the NBA Finals. We’re pulling for them to bring a title home to this great city.”

Opportunities for the Warriors to win a title in Oakland are dwindling since the team has committed to moving to San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood beginning in the 2018-19 season. But Oakland is still pushing hard for the team. Residents are signing a banner outside City Hall wishing the team a successful playoff run. The banner is available through 3 p.m. Friday.

Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses have been emblazoned with “Go Warriors,” and rally cards are available for pickup at City Hall, the Visit Oakland offices at 481 Water St. in Jack London Square, and the Oakland Chamber of Commerce at 475 14th St. The Golden State Warriors flag has been raised at City Hall as well.
