Mill Valley Chamber Fundraiser Brings Relief To Local Businesses

The chamber is using the funds to issue $1,000 direct cash grants.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce launched a crowdfunding drive to help keep small businesses afloat early on in the pandemic, and all indications are that the campaign is making a difference.

As of Monday, the Mill Valley Chamber’s COVID-19 MV Business Fund had raised more than $71,000 towards its $100,000 goal.

The chamber is using the funds to issue $1,000 direct cash grants.

Louise Dockstader, who owns Once Around, a downtown Mill Valley arts and crafts boutique, is among the recipitients.

“It's an absolute miracle – when we all need miracles,” Dockstader told the chamber’s news website.

“Thank you to the people of Mill Valley and the Chamber. When I saw that people were donating $1,000 at a time, I almost cried.”

Eligible businesses are brick and mortar retail, service or nonprofit groups based in Malley with 10 or fewer full-time equivalent employees as of Jan. 2020.
