Mill Valley Library Discussion Group Tackles Race, Civil Rights

Virtual discussions will be held March 15, 17 and 22.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The Mill Valley Public Library will hold virtual book discussions later this month on the impact of a literary masterpiece of the past on race and civil rights in today’s America.

The group will discuss James Baldwin’s 1963 “The Fire Next Time” and the book’s role in shaping conversations about racial justice that have inspired today’s Black Lives Matter movement.

The discussion group scheduled for Monday is full, but the two additional ones have been added for March 17 and March 22.
