City Seeks Community Input on City Manager Recruitment
We would like to invite Mill Valley community members to a Community Meeting on Monday, February 10, 2020 to provide feedback on what qualities they think the next City Manager should possess. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and serves as the chief executive of the City.
“The City Council has a strong interest in receiving input from the community on the qualities and skills desired in our next City Manager,” Mayor Jim Wickham said. “The Council would like for this process to be open, inclusive, and to be informed by community input.”

Following the retirement of City Manager Jim McCann, Council has hired Ralph Andersen & Associates to conduct a national executive search as part of the process of hiring a new City Manager.
The purpose of the meetings is to provide community members with more information about the role of the City Manager and to learn about what community members are looking for in the next City Manager. The topics for community discussion will include the attributes and qualities for the new City Manager, as well as top community issues and priorities.
