Mill Valley Program Teaches Public Speaking Skills

MILL VALLEY, CA — Even during the best of times it’s never been easy for most to stand in front of a microphone and speak to a crowd of strangers.
A year into lockdown in which most of us have lost our social skills, the challenge is that much more daunting.
The Mill Valley Public Library and the Marin County 'Rise & Shine' Toastmasters Club have jointly launched a program that aims to help.

The program’s first meeting will be held Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
“Speaking Publicly: Gain the Skills & Confidence to Show Up as Yourself,” is an eight-week program that helps beginners craft their skills amid a supportive environment.

The program will hold weekly meeting that will include two prepared speeches and impromptu talks on a selected topic.
The meetings will also include a Q&A for additional tips and instructions.
The first session will include: Zoom Tips (lighting, etc.) and Zoom Slideshows.
Registration for this even is full but those interested in joining the program are encouraged to sign up for the wait list.
