'Miss You So Much': Mill Valley Father's Day Photo

MILL VALLEY, CA – Sons and daughters become a reflection of the men who raise them. With Father's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across California to share photos of their dads, whether the father figure in their life is their biological dad, stepdad or granddad.

Mill Valley resident and Patch reader Karen Harder shared this sweet photo and message to her late father. The picture of the dad and daughter was captured in April 2015 in Los Altos.

"Thank you, Dad, for signing the parent permission slip for me to be on the boys' track team. It was prior to Title IX and Mom fought against it because it wasn't ladylike," Harder said. "Thank you, Dad, for watching my ocean lifeguard certification test from afar with binoculars and then treating my hypothermia with so much care and concern. Thank you, Dad, for doing the 'Chicken Dance' with me at my wedding and all of the other wonderful things too numerous to mention.

"You left me three years ago at age 95. I miss you so much."
